Over the past two decades, Angus has worked closely with clients across financial services, retail, consumer, and telecommunications on a broad range of issues, including strategy, M&A, regulation, technology, organisation, culture, and performance challenges and opportunities. He has also played a lead role globally in the firm’s new thinking on strategy—specifically, on more practical and accessible approaches for boards and executives to implement and on the renewal of McKinsey’s strategy methodology to help clients make clearer and more impactful strategic choices.
Angus has extensive experience as a translator between technology and business sectors. Recognising that technology-based disruption is fundamental to strategy and that technology-enabled change at scale is fundamental to transformation, he collaborates with clients on these issues. He has served as managing partner for Australia and New Zealand, and has led the firm’s Digital and Analytics Practices in Australia.
An active champion for gender diversity in Australia, both within McKinsey and more broadly in the Australian community, Angus is a strategic adviser to the Male Champions of Change initiative and a member of its founding group. He actively supports a number of pro bono institutions that advance women, including the YWCA, the Stars Foundation, and the Katrina Dawson Foundation.
Within McKinsey, Angus coleads a global initiative to develop future problem-solving approaches and team practices, as the firm continuously evolves to help clients transform in this time of intense tech-enabled change.
