Welcome and hooah! I am a senior partner in our Washington, D.C. office, a former U.S. Army officer, and the sponsor of our Veterans@McKinsey network.
The Veterans@McKinsey network aims to recruit veterans to McKinsey, maintain a welcoming, inclusive community of veterans within the firm, and serve the broader veteran community through service and mentorship. McKinsey has always been a great place for veterans, and we are excited that the number of veteran colleagues increases every year. Our 300+ members work across 36 offices, in 15 countries, including many colleagues who are currently serving in their national military reserve component, for instance in the U.S. Reserves, National Guard and the British Army Reserve. We also have many members who are military spouses and partners.
The skills we learned serving our countries are translatable to many roles at McKinsey. And although our skills are relevant and valued, we know the challenges of transitioning from a military to a civilian career, so we are here to help. Veterans at the firm know they are never alone; many cite the support, mentorship, and advice they receive from fellow veterans as their favorite aspect of their McKinsey careers.
For the colleagues whose partners are active military, we offer support addressing the unique needs of military families, including frequent moves and handling the stress of deployment.
I encourage you to learn more about our network by checking out our web page and video, and reading some of our members’ stories.
On behalf of the entire Veterans@McKinsey network, I wish you the best of luck in our recruiting process.
