MY PATH TO MCKINSEY
Before becoming a part of McKinsey in 2019, I spent six years working in consulting and in industry, leading process transformation and digitization projects. It was then that a recruiter from McKinsey’s Operations practice reached out to me, prompting my decision to come on board as an associate. In this new role, I started to focus on operational side of company transformation. I lead mostly implementation phases of our studies, solving business challenges by digital solutions and organizational redesign.
DEEPENING MY EXPERTISE IN OPERATIONS AND DIGITIZATION
One of my favorite projects was a study where an international banking group tasked us to help them become trendsetters in implementing three new digital products. This endeavor has emerged as a flagship project not only within the Czech Republic but also across other countries. The most rewarding part is that it has also improved the overall customer satisfaction, transforming a long and monotonous process into a swift, digital, three-click customer journey.
JUGGLING FAMILY AND PROFESSIONAL LIFE
What I appreciate about our Prague office is that colleagues are very thoughtful about each person’s situation. Becoming pregnant during a project, I was able to gradually reduce my hours, transition to part-time, and even engage in internal studies. Upon my return from parental leave, I reconnected with my previous team in Solution Management, a department I had initially rotated into. They have been very supportive, offering me to work on a project remotely and on a part-time basis. In addition, I have been paired with a coach from our firm. This mentor, together with my sponsors, have assisted me through this transitional phase.
