When we look at how our legislators are thinking of regulating generative AI, some of the proposed rules actually address certain reasons businesses are choosing not to adopt generative AI. Key risks for businesses include intellectual property infringement, data and model explainability, model hallucinations, and the ability to respond to regulatory requirements. Adoption of a clear framework would make it a lot easier for companies around the world to adopt generative AI. This goes beyond Europe’s borders, since companies around the world have been voicing concerns about these issues, and the need to agree on a pathway forward.
