Generative AI will help leading companies become even better at what they do, which means certain economic clusters in Europe will perfect their engineering excellence. Others will push the boundaries of creativity, design, customer service quality, and capital allocation skills. All of this is predicated on the active and timely adoption of a generative AI toolkit. In my sector, private equity, that will mean more deals in search of generative AI excellence and transformational opportunities across all industries. Private equity funds will be able to leverage generative AI both organically and inorganically. For example, they can look for leading gen AI adopters, buy those companies, and transfer their skills and capabilities across the portfolio. Or they can encourage one of their portfolio companies to quickly adopt gen AI solutions, make them a center of excellence, and again, transplant those capabilities and skills across the portfolio.
