Young Global Leaders on Davos 2024

What can we expect at Davos 2024? The World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders, current and alumni, share their thoughts on generative AI—a topic that will dominate the Davos agenda—and suggest other themes that they believe should get more attention.
In 2023, generative AI (gen AI) and its potential captured our collective imagination, while globalization and geopolitics, economic sustainability, and the energy transition continued to occupy our attention and concern. As we prepare for 2024 to unfold and get ready for the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting on January 15–19, what themes in business, economics, and policy should surface at Davos 2024?

McKinsey Global Publishing’s Raju Narisetti, an alumnus of the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders (YGL)—a group that includes professionals in business, nongovernmental organizations, and not-for-profit organizations from around the world—asked 17 other YGLs about what aspect of generative AI they believe will need to be discussed more in-depth at Davos 2024, as well as one topic they each think could use much more attention from all the leaders during Davos.
