Balázs brings deep experience in advising major financial institutions on strategy, risk, and operational and organizational transformation. He is a leader in McKinsey’s Risk Management Practice.
Balázs has helped design and deliver far-reaching transformation programs for several leading financial services companies across Europe. In one instance, working with an Eastern European banking group, he helped shape a large-scale collections transformation program across its subsidiaries, both retail and corporate.
Balázs also developed a Lean transformation program for a major banking client, focusing on customer care units including call centers, branch offices, and collections. He also designed a comprehensive change program to drive cultural and organizational renewal for another partner in the banking sector. And he has led a successful turnaround strategy for a large Eastern European financial institution to mitigate risks from its legacy non-performing loan portfolio and to re-launch growth in key segments.
Prior to joining McKinsey, Balázs worked for Raiffeisen Bank in Budapest.
