Christian is a partner in McKinsey’s Washington, DC office and the coleader of our work on renewable energy in North America. He advises major electric-power generators, suppliers, and manufacturers, as well as private and public investors on strategic and operational challenges. His particular focus is on solar photovoltaic and on- and offshore wind, in the United States as well as across the globe.
In his recent client projects, Christian has worked with a solar wafer manufacturer on its scale-up strategy, advised a renewables developer on its global procurement operating model, and helped a large North American utility formulate its approach to the energy transition, including renewables scale-up, coal phase-out, and business-mix decisions.
He has supported a global financial investor with market entry in US renewables, led our work on capital transformation at a major North American electric and gas utility, and conducted several due diligences in solar manufacturing for private-equity funds.
Christian holds a PhD and a master‘s degree in physics.
