Ian has more than 25 years of experience in operations and process improvement, having worked both in industry and consulting. Since joining McKinsey in 2021, he has focused on helping drive next-generation operational excellence in manufacturing for clients in pharma and medical devices, consumer, and logistics and infrastructure.
Examples of Ian’s recent client work include:
- directing a lean and digital manufacturing transformation at two sites of a diversified medical products company
- leading a manufacturing network strategy and site transfer planning for a medical device company in North America
- developing an operations diagnostic across manufacturing, procurement, design, and logistics for a medical device company in North America
- managing a manufacturing site and digital readiness assessment for a luxury consumer company
- overseeing an operations diagnostic at a bulk port in the Middle East
Before joining McKinsey, Ian served as managing director and partner at Boston Consulting Group in Copenhagen and Hong Kong and held various manufacturing management roles at Danfoss and Novo Nordisk.
