Leorizio D'Aversa is a senior partner in the firm’s Milan office and one of the international leaders of McKinsey Digital and our work in banking.

Having gained extensive experience in technological and digital innovation, Leorizio serves leading European institutions in the development of operational and business-model transformation projects by relying on technology, digitalization, and artificial intelligence, with the aim of boosting the performance of business growth and operational-efficiency endeavours.

He has led many large-scale transformation programs, including the following:

  • creating new digital businesses
  • creating new cross-border business models for companies operating in multiple countries
  • transforming technology departments to reduce time-to-market and accelerate productivity
  • defining strategies for the evolution of IT systems with a view to cloud computing
  • transforming, at scale, the way of working with a view to agile working
  • applying at scale AI techniques based on big data
  • guiding the end-to-end digitization of business processes
  • Before starting his professional career in strategy consulting at McKinsey, Leorizio pursued two of his other passions: sea and technology. He served as an officer in the Italian Navy after completing his studies at the Naval Academy. He also worked in the technology sector.

    He crowned his academic career with a degree in information science from the University of Milan with top marks, as well as a degree in political science from the University of Trieste, a degree in maritime and naval science from the Naval Academy of Livorno, and a diploma in piano from the Conservatory of Music of Livorno.
