Martin focuses on helping Southeast Asian companies implement multibillion-dollar megaprojects at scale. These long-term and complex projects require close collaboration with companies, from the C-suite to the front line, throughout the entire engagement, from project development and design to execution.

In addition to extensive experience in the energy and mining sectors, Martin also brings deep experience in developing and leading large-scale transformation programs. He works closely with companies to help them implement operations improvements and build key skills and capabilities to enable them to capture impact and drive sustainable change.

Examples of his recent client work include the following:

• running a project-management office for an energy company in Southeast Asia to help it manage the execution of multiple megaprojects by rigorously tracking key initiatives, resolving bottlenecks, and driving results
• designing and implementing an energy-management system, including driving a capability-building program to develop change agents and launching the system at scale, for an energy company in Southeast Asia that helped it capture more than $10 million of annualized impact within six months of implementation
• developing and implementing a frontline operations-excellence program that resulted in improved operational efficiencies and increased service levels for a leading mining and heavy-equipment company in Indonesia
• launching an operational-performance-improvement program that captured more than $2 million of annualized impact within three months of implementation for one of Southeast Asia’s largest power organizations

Prior to joining McKinsey, Martin was a process engineer at a leading environmental-technology and -solutions company. In this role, he developed and executed multiple engineering, procurement, and construction projects across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. He was involved throughout the entire life cycle of a project, from initial design conception to detailed engineering design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
