Nawaf is a Partner in McKinsey & Company’s Washington DC office. Nawaf leads the Network and Contracting Analytics service lines and has served payors, providers, and PEs on a variety of topics including network strategy, network design, network optimization, FFS, and value-based contracting across medical, specialty, and ancillary networks.
Nawaf specializes in building tech-enabling solutions to support clients in improving health access and equity, quality, and outcomes. He has extensive experience in developing advanced analytics and AI-based solutions.
His recent work has included:
- Led a network portfolio strategy effort for one of the largest insurers in the US, focusing on regaining competitive position and strengthening their lead
- Led an analytics capability-building effort with a national physician group focused on delivering insights and benchmarks in support of contract negotiations
- Helped a leading regional payor redesign their dental network across their commercial and Medicare lines of businesses
- Supported a national payor through a diagnostic of their current network in preparation for launching a hybrid telehealth primary care network
- Supported a large regional payor in a COVID-19 vaccine rollout strategy enabled through advanced geospatial modeling
- Served several PE firms in assessing the strength and potential partnerships of a target retail pharmacy chain and another PE firm on a dialysis group
- Supported a payor renegotiation by leveraging insights from price transparency data
- Developed an analytics platform for a regional payor to generate insights that can be shared with value-based arrangement providers
- Helped an MSO develop a referral management program focusing on high performing specialists across key specialties
