As a core leader of the McKinsey Center for Future Mobility, Patrick helps clients in the areas of energy & powertrain transition, vehicle electrification, emissions regulations, supply chain, battery technology, electric-vehicle (EV) strategy, and advanced mobility trends.

Since 2009, Patrick has worked across the automotive value chain and mobility ecosystem and supported Tier 1 and 2 suppliers, such as raw-materials producers, chemical companies, EV manufacturers, automotive suppliers, fuel cell producers, and battery makers. He also has experience with passenger and commercial vehicle OEMs, as well as mobility and tech start-ups, investors, industry associations, and public-sector clients on topics related to sustainable mobility and decarbonization.

Patrick has worked globally for clients in approximately 20 countries, including approximately two years in the the United States and one year in Asia.

Example of his recent work include the following:

  • supporting automotive OEMs with powertrain strategy, purchasing cost optimizations, battery-sourcing strategy, product development, make-or-buy strategy, EV go-to-market strategy, regulations, and certification, as well as risk management, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) work, and supply chain resilience
  • helping automotive suppliers on post-merger integration, portfolio strategy following electrification and “sunset” internal combustion engine components, design to value, and design to cost optimization, plus profitability and turnaround programs
  • conducting due diligences on suppliers and automotive and mobility start-ups in light of capital raise, IPOs, special acquisition companies, or M&A processes
