Pierre is the firm’s chief legal officer and a member of McKinsey’s leadership team.

Pierre brings over 30 years of experience in business, law, public service, and academia. He was a partner in private law practice, a senior legal and risk officer at a global financial services firm, and a lawyer with the U.S. Department of Justice. He has been recognized as a leading business lawyer by the Financial Times, Bloomberg, The American Lawyer, Crains New York Business, and numerous other media.

Pierre serves on the advisory board of Cambridge University’s Judge School of Business and is a member of the World Economic Forum’s chief legal officer community. He has served on many of the WEF’s global agenda councils and was previously a WEF Young Global Leader. Pierre has been a board member of Princeton University’s Center for Public Policy and Finance, the Practicing Law Institute, the Touro Synagogue Foundation, and Columbia Law School’s Center for Israeli Legal Studies. Pierre chaired the board of Princeton University’s Center for Jewish Life and is a recipient of the Anti-Defamation League’s Human Relations Award.

Pierre currently teaches at Yale Law School as a Visiting Lecturer in Law, and he previously served as Leader in Residence at Columbia Law School, Summer Lecturer at Tel Aviv University, Adjunct Professor of Law at Fordham University, and Lecturer in Ethics at the Wharton School of Business. He co-edited a book on alternative dispute resolution in the financial services sector, and during the COVID-19 lockdown, he taught a virtual course exploring the relationship between American poetry, religious thought, and blues music.

Pierre holds an AB from Princeton University, magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, and a JD from Columbia University.
