Samer co-leads McKinsey’s global client service on megaprojects, advising both governments and private firms in the power, mining, oil & gas, and infrastructure sectors. He brings more than two decades of global experience in planning and managing large-scale capital projects across their full life cycle—from conceptual studies through execution and handoff to operations.
Samer brings deep expertise in feasibility and planning of new capital projects. He supports clients to undertake robust technical-feasibility studies, estimate costs, assess the current status of projects, and put in place effective project-planning and development disciplines.
Prior to joining McKinsey in 2016, Samer was with Bechtel Mining & Metals, where he served as an area project manager at the Al Taweelah Alumina refinery in Abu Dhabi. He previously held project-management and project-control roles for Bechtel across North and South America and the Middle East, in sectors ranging from mining to energy to infrastructure.
Samer is a member of the American Association of Cost Engineers and is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt. He is fluent in English and Arabic, and also speaks basic Spanish.
