Senior ExpertLondon

Leads research into business topics affecting performance and societal impact, including the business case and best practices in promoting diversity and inclusion; engaging with clients and wider stakeholders to drive change.

Dr. Sundiatu Dixon-Fyle (Ph.D) is a senior expert on inclusive growth and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in McKinsey’s London office. She leads distinctive research and engages with clients and wider stakeholders on articulating the business case for and delivering on socio-economic impact of inclusive business practices. Her areas of expertise span inclusive economic growth, the business case for DEI, inclusive talent management best practices, strengthening a culture of inclusion in the workplace, and supporting organizations in achieving wider social impact particularly on economic inclusion. She also supports McKinsey’s internal efforts in these areas.

In recent years Sundiatu has co-led the firm’s “Diversity Matters”—a multi-year research effort on the link between diversity and financial performance and on best practices in driving lasting change to diverse representation and inclusion within organizations—deploying a fact-based, analytical approach drawing on datasets, proprietary surveys, and engaging with companies and other stakeholders worldwide. Recent publications include Diversity Matters Even More, Ethnocultural minorities in Europe: An untapped growth opportunity, Diversity Wins, and The future of women at work in the United Kingdom.

Sundiatu works with our senior partner leadership to engage widely on the above topics with clients, external partners, and internal client service teams. This includes helping clients understand the impact opportunity through articulating bespoke, business-led inclusive growth and DEI aspirations, and deploying diagnostic approaches combining talent metrics with semi-quantitative and qualitative assessments of employee experience in order to lay out the nature and scale of the gap to close. Drawing on an extensive proprietary evidence base and benchmarks from research as well as our firm’s client work, Sundiatu supports clients in crafting transformation programs tailored to their needs. She also advocates widely for economic inclusion and DEI across public fora and the media, helping influence business leaders, government policy-makers, and other decision-makers worldwide.

Sundiatu has also served healthcare clients extensively across pharmaceuticals and medical products, as well as health systems and services, with her focus being primarily strategy and R&D.

Prior to joining McKinsey, Sundiatu worked with a leading Swiss pharmaceuticals company as a senior project manager in drug development, and with Geneva University Hospital as a clinical research coordinator.
