We need to decrease bias in all processes, look at what we can do to create a better environment for all.
I’m passionate about people, and after my university studies, I started a political career because I wanted to create change in society. That desire to drive positive change also led me to McKinsey, where I started as an experienced hire.
At the firm, I’m at my best working close to the clients, being “the spider in the web” and providing a helicopter perspective. I like to see people grow and help organizations really get to know the people within, to be able to create a healthy workplace dynamic.
As a politician, I worked toward gender equality in society, and that work has continued at McKinsey, where I am a spokesperson for women’s recruiting and our diversity efforts. I see companies striving for diverse teams as the smart way to work—a concept that makes us all better and improves every aspect of business. We need to decrease bias in all processes and look at what we can do to create a better environment for everyone, regardless of gender or background.
I believe people should have every opportunity to reach the highest positions in society, and McKinsey allows me to work toward that goal every day.
