María Carolina is a partner based in McKinsey’s Bogotá office. She leads our Organization Practice in Colombia and serves clients across the whole of Spanish Latin America, including Argentina, Chile, Panama and Peru.

María Carolina brings deep expertise in designing and implementing new corporate governance models, organizational structures and systems, and capability-building programs. She also works with clients to shape the organizational change needed to support financial transformations.

Examples of her recent work include the following:

  • Leading the design of a corporate governance model for a Latin American financial group, focusing on its processes for evaluation, succession, and management of high-potential talent.
  • Helping strengthen the corporate governance model of a major business group, including the management of its board of directors and the structure and functioning of its corporate committees.
  • Working with an oil company in Latin America to shape and implement a corporate academy to develop leadership and technical skills across its management cohort.
  • Supporting the organizational component of a financial transformation for a leading company in the region—including organizational design, capacity development, and change management.
