Our Capabilities
Our multidisciplinary global team of experts have experience from across the full value chain of multiple sectors.
Nature Analytics
The benefits, risks, and trade-offs involved in natural capital decision making are complex. Our dedicated nature analytics team uses advanced analytics to help private, public, and social sector leaders make the most insightful decisions, implement step change programs, and extract the greatest value for all stakeholders.
Nature-positive transformation and green business building
Our Nature in the balance report represents the first quantified perspective of the impact of economic sectors on natural capital and what companies can do to restore the balance. Our team works with businesses across sectors to understand their footprint and implement ROI-positive actions that address both climate and nature crises. We also support green business building for the next set of nature-related unicorns that can help return the economy to a safe operating space for humanity.
Implementation of 30x30
A central target of the landmark agreement adopted at the COP15 Biodiversity Conference is to protect at least 30 percent of Earth’s lands, oceans, coastal areas and inland waters by 2030, commonly known as 30x30. Our team has deep expertise in guiding governments on how to optimally design and implement their 30x30 commitments. Additionally, we collaborate with Enduring Earth and Blue Nature Alliance to accelerate ocean, land, and freshwater conservation, and support community development worldwide.
Financing and investing in NbS
Nature-based solutions (NbS), which play a critical role in restoring our ecosystems and limiting greenhouse-gas emissions, are experiencing a significant financing gap as institutions work to scale them. Our team works with stakeholders from across the NbS value chain on reforestation and afforestation, regenerative agriculture, marine fisheries management, carbon removals, and more. We help investors and financial institutions streamline the deployment of capital toward NbS to secure ROI and nature-positive returns while managing risk.
Risk and opportunity management for financial institutions
The adoption of the Global Biodiversity Framework will lead to additional government policies on nature and climate, which could impact investors and financial institutions. Financial institutions will likely be required to create an extensive view of environmental risks and the effect of their investments on nature. Our team works to bring transparency to investment portfolios to help inform business decisions, and to better manage risks and capture opportunities.
Nature credits and markets
The concept of “nature credits”—a new economic instrument that rewards the protection and restoration of nature—is rapidly gaining attention. If used correctly within a market, these credits could unlock significant new sources of financial capital to drive the restoration and land use change required to secure a sustainable future. Our teams are working with stakeholders to build and scale the infrastructure needed to unlock nature credits and markets.
