Dr. Nico Raabe is a partner at McKinsey’s Berlin office and leads the McKinsey Center for Government in Europe.
Since joining the firm in 2008, he has primarily served public sector clients in addressing transformational challenges. Besides this, his focus industries are aerospace & defense, automotive, and energy. Nico is furthermore an expert in effectively engaging all relevant stakeholder groups, particularly worker’s councils and unions, for a successful implementation of large-scale transformations, mergers, and carve-outs.
Prior to joining McKinsey, Nico spent eight years working part time as an advisor to a chief whip at Germany‘s federal parliament. His PhD focuses on the role of labor co-determination at German supervisory boards. He holds a master’s degree in business administration of Humboldt University, Berlin.
Nico is an active supporter of various non-profit organizations. He is a board member of Margot Friedländer Foundation, the Foundation of the German War Graves Commission, the German Orient Foundation as well as of the Founders’ Council of Berlin Cathedral. In 2011, he was created an Honorary Knight of the German branch of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem.
